Just how flat is the world of IT, anyway?

Here at MWD Towers we get a daily newswire update in our inboxes, to ensure that we catch all the news from the major players in the IT industry.
On both Nov 21st and 22nd, as is about usual for an average day, we received notification of 14 news releases from the usual suspects.
On Nov 23rd – there were 2.
Today – 1.
This made me think two things:
1) “Wow – you can tell it’s Thanksgiving week”, shortly followed by
2) “Wow – you can tell just how much this industry is dominated by US companies.”
