I like to use "Integration Container" to describe ActiveMatrix.

In comparison the JEE specification ushered in a new era by delivering an "Application Container" freeing developers from worry about all the resource mangement (TXns, Execute Threads, Connection Pools etc..) so they could focus on the business logic.
Unfortunately the problems of distribution and integration still were not addressed with this mechanism.

The JBI specification and the ActiveMatrix product are now ushering in a new mechanism that frees developers up from the resource and infrastructure management problems of distribution and integration so they can focus on end-to-end process enablement across distributed components expressed as software services.

This, in my opinion, is what is needed to unleash the real power of SOA!

Is Tibco too early in cycle? Are they the analog of the early Application Server companies that had the vision to build the 1st application container only to have potential customers not yet ready to see the value?
