What you'll see from service launch, and what's coming up

Wednesday, March 26, 2008 by

We’re all set for a launch of the new MWD BPM continuous advisory service on April 14th. This is a completely new business line for us, and we’re really excited. There’s lots of great research and report material in the service at launch, and more set to arrive in the coming months.

At launch we have in-depth coverage of BEA, Lombardi, Software AG and TIBCO in our vendor comparison tool, and more vendors (including Appian, IBM, Cordys and Pegasystems) will be added soon.

At launch we also have our first in-depth “strategic insights” report, on the topic of BPM and SOA. The 30-word pitch: the relationship between BPM and SOA isn’t as simple as you think, but it’s critical to get right if you’re to succeed with taking BPM enterprise-wide in your organisation.

And we have our debut “market insights” piece, too, which focuses on the issue of vendor consolidation. Are there too many BPM technology vendors out there, and what will happen in the coming months and years? This is a crucial question for anyone planning to invest in BPM technology.

Last but not least, we’re launching with a case study, which focuses on UK phone retailer and telecoms service provider The Carphone Warehouse – detailing the organisational journey this fascinating company is making as it introduces BPM concepts.

Coming soon, as well as more vendor coverage in our online comparison tool, we have the findings from our first European survey of enterprise BPM adoption – exploring the current perceptions, practicalities and plans of European organisations. The first output from this study will be published here in May. We’re also working on strategic insights reports looking at the current state of BPM technology standards, and the relevance of process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma.

There’s lots to get your teeth into! Please tell your colleagues about this service and the great research on offer – our licensing terms mean that anyone in your organisation can access the research without extra fees being incurred – we operate an “all you can eat” model…
