New Metastorm webinar: BPM for IT Service Management

I just came across an invitation to an upcoming webinar from Metastorm and ICCM – which is advertised as exploring how BPM technology can help you implement IT Service Management improvements as promoted through frameworks like ITIL.
I’m really pleased to see this webinar coming about. Over the past year, as we’ve been actively researching BPM maturity and adoption in Europe, it’s become clear that organisations are figuring out that IT Service Management initiatives present a major opportunity for learning about and proving the value of BPM “on home turf”.
If IT organisations are smart about this then there are two potential benefits: firstly, improved IT Service Management – which should improve the overall standing of the IT organisation in the eyes of the business; and secondly, a solid proof-point of the value of BPM technology that can be used to demonstrate a wider business case.
Too often we find IT groups trying to sell BPM technology internally to business groups without relaly being able to provide relevant material to back up the promise. Tackling IT Service Management improvement opportunities with BPM technology is a smart move.
