Google expands partner strategy for Google Apps

Google today announced a new reseller program for the business version of its collaboration suite, Google Apps Premier Edition. The program allows partners to resell the suite, bundling additional services and support with it where required. This move highlights the continuing momentum of Google in this space, as the company works to build its credibility and profile in the enterprise marketplace, challenging the software industry giants IBM and Microsoft. A strong partner network will be a useful weapon in this strategy, both in terms of an expanded distribution channel, and in terms of technology partners who develop solutions on top of – or integrate existing solutions with – the Google Apps technology.
