Ascentn changes name to AgilePoint – a good move

Earlier this week the company formerly known as Ascentn announced that it had changed its name to AgilePoint – taking the brand used for its core BPM Suite product.
This is a smart move for the company. The AgilePoint BPMS (which we’ll be publishing an assessment of in the coming weeks) is a well-rounded offering that can be pretty compelling – particluarly considering the level of integration it offers with SharePoint and other Microsoft tools and platforms and the company’s flexible pricing strategy. The AgilePoint brand has started to achieve some penetration – more so than the company itself.
Moreover it’s a nice encapsulation of what the company is trying to do. Not trying to be everything to everyone, but trying to excel at helping customers deliver very flexible process-oriented applications and integration systems quickly and easily.
AgilePoint is also a lot easier to pronounce than Ascentn…
