Active Endpoints continues strong growth
Wednesday, July 14, 2010 by Neil Ward-Dutton
Yesterday Active Endpoints announced its Q2 2010 financial results – in the teasing way that private companies tend to do, typically avoiding absolute numbers and sticking to percentages.
Still, the numbers that are there are impressive. I’m making a guess that the company’s annual revenue is currently under $10m, and of course this does represent what an economist would call a “low base”; but Active Endpoints’ BPMS revenue has tripled year-on-year, and the current revenue run-rate is double that in 2009.
The company is happy to agree that ActiveVOS doesn’t have the broadest or deepest range of BPM technology functionality available on the market – but what Active Endpoints has focused on very successfully is consumability, pricing and developer-friendliness. In other words, it’s identified a very well-defined market segment and is focusing very firmly on meeting the needs of that segment rather than aiming to deliver end-to-end uber-functional-completeness.
It’s a sign of growing market maturity, I think, that the approach is continuing to reap strong benefits.
