Scaling and sustaining BPM success with a Centre of Excellence

Thursday, August 18, 2011 by

After a few months of research work, we’ve finally published a new Strategic Insights report looking at how organisations can take individual BPM project successes and scale them to develop BPM as an organisational competency – using a Centre of Excellence (COE). The report draws on existing published case study work we’ve done in the past, as well as an extended set of conversations with BPM adopters. The new report covers topics like:

  • What is a BPM COE?
  • Establishing a business case for your BPM COE
  • What should your CoE look like?
  • Getting started and developing your BPM COE
  • Rounding out a BPM COE plan: support activities and resources you’ll need.

If you’re looking at the possibility of setting up a BPM COE or want some guidance on how to tweak your current setup, you might want to check this report out. It’s not a free report I’m afraid: you’ll have to pay for it unless you’re a current advisory service customer. You can use our new e-commerce facility to buy the report online, though – so you can get access to the content instantly.

Later in the year we’re going to be further extending our research in this area with an industry survey – to explore the current state of maturity within BPM COEs. As we set that up, I’ll keep you posted!
