It’s BPM Jim, but not as we know it
Wednesday, October 19, 2011 by Beth Barling
If you’re a BPM professional, here’s something you won’t want to miss. This morning we launched a brand new MWD Insights event on the topic of Adaptive Case Management, heralded by some as a new, more dynamic and flexible approach to business process management. Much of the current commentary on the topic pitches ACM and BPM as opposing forces – but is it really that simple?
In this online, on-demand event you’ll find a four-part analyst webcast series, presented by Neil Ward-Dutton, MWD’s BPM expert and Research Director. These bite-sized guides will you gain a clear, unbiased, hype-free understanding of how BPM and ACM technologies are evolving to help organisations make business improvements and link strategy to execution – and how the two technology types are related to one another. Here’s what you’ll learn:
1. From Taylor to BPM, and beyond: The history of process improvement and how today’s BPM technology approach builds on what’s gone before. (7’56″)
2. Enter ACM: BPM for a new generation? Here Neil digs into the idea of Adaptive Case Management, and compares and contrasts it with common perceptions of BPM. (11’30″)
3. The anatomy of work, and how (and why) to manage it: Here you’ll learn how different styles of work lend themselves to different management approaches, and how ACM and BPM are similar in some ways (as well as having differences). (7’20″)
4. Setting your strategy for performance improvement: Neil wraps things up by providing some practical pointers you can use to take your work improvement efforts forward. (6’38″)
We appreciate how busy you are – that’s why we’ve made these webcasts available to you on demand and in small chunks so you can dip in at a time to suit you. The interactive console puts YOU in control – you can pause or skip around the presentation at will, so if you don’t get chance to complete an entire section, come back and start again where you left off. The webcasts are free, and you don’t even need to register to get started. And it’s available for 12 months, so you’ve got plenty of time.
This event is brought to you free of charge thanks to the generous support of our Platinum+ sponsor*, IBM, and our Gold sponsors* Appian, DST Global Solutions and Singularity. After you’ve taken a look at the webcasts and got an understanding of what it’s all about, why not check out their ‘booths’ in our virtual exhibition hall? There you’ll find an overview of their BPM offerings, as well as a wealth of other free resources, including case studies, whitepapers, an MWD report and even a free excerpt from a book (Taming the Unpredictable).
So get started now and check out the event site. As always, let us know what you think. Visit the feedback page on the event site and you’ll receive 10% off our premium advisory reports (which you can now buy online and download immediately by the way).
* A note about sponsoring a MWD Advisors event: We’re grateful to our sponsors for their support. But just so you know, we designed and created the event content ourselves – it’s a completely independent and unbiased piece of work. We hope you find it useful.
