BPM, Business and IT: What It Really Takes to Collaborate

Later this month (Sept 16th to be precise) I’m going to be presenting a webinar on the above topic, courtesy of Active Endpoints. The subject is one I’m very passionate about: how organisations can best set themselves up to maximise their chances of success with BPM by working collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams.

BPMN “not for the business”? Let’s lose the hype

In a post today called BPMN 2.0: no longer for Business Professionals, Keith Swenson of Fujitsu (lead author of Mastering the Unpredictable) builds on a recent post on BPMN from Gartner’s Jim Sinur (BPMN for Business Professionals: Burn Baby Burn).
Both focus on how the BPMN standard is out of the reach of “the business” – [...]

A couple of days ago the June 2010 release of IBM BPM Blueprint went live, and it’s interesting to see this Social BPM trailblazer take inspiration from another corner of the SaaS/social software world – Salesforce.com’s Chatter. (You can read Angela’s take on Chatter here).
Specifically there’s now a capability that allows any user to ‘follow’ [...]

BPM and business processes get social

Following a significant amount of effort ove rmany months, Angela Ashenden (our Principal Analyst focused on Collaboration) and I have finally finished what I think is a landmark report looking at the phenomena of Social BPM and Social Processes.
In the new MWD Strategic Insights report (which you can find here) we explain in detail how [...]
