about the library
MWD's research programmes are focused on a series of competencies. A "competency" is an IT-based practice area that enterprises need to have in place if they are to receive IT systems, services and capabilities that help them maximise performance and competitiveness. IT competencies are relatively immune to fashion: they're areas of skill and activity that are likely to remain important to enterprises for a long time, even as technology and business fads come and go.
Against the backdrop of these competencies, MWD also tracks, analyses and advises on a number of disruptive trends across technology and business. These trends are temporal and changeable and are considered where appropriate in the context of the seven IT competencies outlined above. MWD reviews this set of disruptive trends on a regular basis. We tag all our research reports to show which current issues they address.
