Information collection and use
When you register on the Macehiter Ward-Dutton Limited (MWD, MWD Advisors) Web site or purchase products, we ask you for personal information. We use this information to provide you with the best advice and highest-quality service as well as with offers that we think are relevant to you. We may also contact you regarding a Web site problem or other customer service-related issues.
If you leave a comment on the MWD Web site MWD collects the data shown in the comments form, and also your IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.
Articles on the MWD Web site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
MWD does not market to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children on the MWD Web site.
If you leave a comment on the MWD Website, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
If you register on the MWD Web site, we also store the personal information you provide in your user profile indefinitely. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
If you have registered for an account on the MWD Web site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data MWD is obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Information sharing and disclosure
MWD does not sell, share or rent personal information about you collected on the MWD Web site.
In order to use all the features of the MWD Web site, you will be asked to complete a registration form. During registration, you are required to provide contact information which is used to determine whether you are a subscriber.
When you sign up for e-mail Alerts from the MWD Web site, you are asked to provide your e-mail address. Other information may also be necessary depending on the type of Alert requested. If you want to stop receiving Alerts from the MWD Web site, you can do so by sending a request to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Purchases and fulfilment
When you place an order, we may request additional information such as credit card number and expiration date. This information is used for confirmation and billing purposes. The contact information you provide is used to service the order. MWD may use third-party service providers such as credit card processing companies and shipping companies together with other service providers as required to satisfy client requests.
We monitor how you use the MWD Web site including search terms you enter, pages visited and documents viewed. If you are a registered user, this information is stored with your registration information. It is used to enable us to provide you with a personalised Web site experience, and from time to time in order to make personalised recommendations to you. Aggregated (not personally identifiable) forms of this data may also be used in order to help us understand areas for future research and to identify future features and functions to develop for the Web site. This data may also be used by MWD, in the aggregate, to identify appropriate product offerings and subscription plans.
This same data may also used by MWD corporate clients to help them understand how their subscriptions are being used by their employees and in this case, is personally identifiable to the specific client.
A cookie is a small piece of computer code that enables Web servers to “identify” visitors. Each time you initiate a session on the MWD Web site, a cookie is set in order to identify you and determine your access privileges. Cookies do not store any of the information that you have provided to the site. They are simply identifiers.
You have the ability to delete cookie files from your hard drive at any time. However, you should know that cookies may be necessary to provide you with access to much of the content and many of the features of the MWD Web site. We use cookie technology to enable registered users to move quickly and securely through access-controlled areas of the sites. Cookie technology also enables registered users to take advantage of certain useful features on the sites, including “remember my password.”
